Photos from the outside and inside of this ancient priory.It is vastly more impressive inside. With all the angles and columns you get the light and shadow as the sun struggles to reach some of the darker corners.

Thomas Addison

Thomas Addison, a renowned Victorian medic associated with Guys hospital is buried here. His tomb is sheltered under a yew tree and gives no hint of the depression which drove him to suicide.

Lanercost – two bridges
