The Eden valley produces some lovely autumn colours come October and before the winter winds strip the trees bare.

A wealthy and attractive village a few miles to the south of Brampton.

The section between Middle and Lower Gelt offers some great walks through Beech woods.

Wetheral is a wealthy village between Carlisle and Brampton. There is a lovely stretch of the River Eden here as it runs below the dominating presence of Corby Castle.

Armathwaite is a lovely village alongside the river Eden. The walk through Coombs woods is peaceful and quiet.

The stone circle at Long Meg is well worth a visit. half way up the Eden valley it offers an intriguing day out.
